Hi,
I have gone out today and brought myself a moshi mini DP to HDMI adapter for my mid 2010 model Macbook Pro. I plugged the adapter in with the HDMI cable into my macbook, connected to my 21.5" HDMI monitor, and it worked the first time. Now whenever i go to use this adapter, it picks it up on my mac(can choose displays and the monitor name comes up), but it comes up "No HDMI cable", on the monitor. I am really stuck, and i have no idea how to get my display back up on my monitor. I have tried turning off mirroring and tried different resolutions etc. PLEASE, PLEASE help me, i hope i haven't wasted my money on something that doesn't work!!

Thanks

I have the same adapter. It works great on the 3 different TV's and Monitors I connect to.

Try plugging it all in… then System Preferences>Displays> then click "Detect Displays" in the lower right corner of the preferences window.

pick up the TV remote and press the input button - cycle through all the HDMI ports.

I have tried both of these things, and nothing seems to change!, plus it is a pc monitor, so it only has one HDMI input and one VGA.

Time to try different resolutions via Display preferences.

You can also try resetting PRAM on the Mac - after the above.

I have tried all of the resolution settings(both monitor and the mac screen), and this does nothing. What is the PRAM?, and how do you reset it, and what will it do??

Thanks

Among other things - you can read more in the link - it controls some of the video function.

Reset PRAM
