I just got a mac and downloaded the mac remote desktop client (by Microsoft) so that i can remote into my windows machine.
I fired up the remote desktop client on the mac and entered the windows 7 computer name into the text field and it won't connect. I also tried the IP address.
So to troubleshoot the network I tried some things. Here is what I've tried and all of these DO work:
- I can connect to the windows machine from the mac using finder's "connect to server" dialog (command-K) and view the files just fine
- I can ping the windows machine from the mac
- I can ping the mac from the windows machine
And yes I've made sure that the windows 7 machine is accepting remote desktop connections.
Is there a better forum to post these kinds of questions?
