If you buy the 16GB iPhone 4 and need more memory, is it possible to upgrade the same phone to 32GB or would you have to buy a new phone? TIA.

no… not upgradeable.

*theoretically, it would be POSSIBLE to upgrade, as in ANYTHING is "possible".

Memory is not Storage..a very common misunderstanding of how that works..the iPhone and other mobile devices don't use hard drive type technologies for storage, rather they use NAND chips that are soldered to the baseboard..

This is not a user-upgradable thing..not much in these devices is meant to be..so get the MAX size you think you'll need..

Regards
