Macbook won't charge.

I have the white macbook and the past few days it hasn't charged well. Basically 9 times out of 10 when i plug it in the light won't come on, only very rarely it actually does.

I haven't been roughing my laptop or even the charger bit on the side of it, so i don't see why it would suddenly stop working, should i buy a new charger?
