I have a MacBook Pro and have wireless in my house. The only way my airport will work is if it's in another room, away from my modem. If I am sitting close to my modem, my airport keeps "looking for networks". Very frustrating. I am really wanting to be on the internet and not have to sit in my kitchen to do so. I've done all the software updates, and that didn't help. The Airport Utility won't even pick up a device. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried putting your wireless modem onto a different wireless channel? There could be some interference going on there. I think most Airports are set to have the wireless channels on Automatic but I've found the best options are to have them set on either 1, 6 or 11
