That's a touchy subject.

Tough to get a grip on it.

The porn industry has certainly managed just fine getting its product to Apple mobile device users despite this ban. There are tons of porn websites out there geared specifically for mobile devices.

Me neither, People may become prude or squeamish talking about the subject of porn. But just in the U.S. alone it's a multi-billion dollar industry.Whether Apple likes it or not there going to get their product on the iPad.

Nonsense. There's nothing stopping people from using the internet browser on the iPad to access porn.

At least that's what I'm told.

This one must have slipped by the censors at the App Store --



I don't think it is even in the Top 100 anymore (probably because it isn't a very good app in the first place), but unlike the iBooks that were removed from the top sellers list, this app was in the Top 100 for some time.

While it was certainly suggestive in nature, the "graphics" were just simple line drawings with no detail or explanation which is probably why it only has 2 stars... and they should consider those a gift!

No. I don't think Apple has that much influence over other people's will to innovate new ways to get what they want. As we've seen time and again, prohibition generally just causes people to come up with new and creative ways to get what they want. Some will jailbreak, others will buy another product. Wall off Mexico, folks will get it from Canada. Those who create the stuff, be it porn or whatever, will find other delivery methods or evolve their own to deliver product as long as it is profitable. I'm not a fan of the Nanny-State "protect me from myself" mentality anyhow. Darwinism works just fine, and stupidity should hurt.

I applaud Apple on this one, just because they could allow it does not mean they should. Free Speech was intended primarily to protect against an oppressive government.

That same question could be asked for why people are using the iPad for Netflix or HULU, Also I think people are losing sight on the issue, Porn is not banned on the iPad, It's banned in the app store (For now) Like some of the posters before me already said most Adult content providers have made there sites compatible with iDevices.

I disagree with the limiting of a device's capabilities regarding both content and hardware. If Jobs wants to restrict the content available on the app store, fine, but that's simply as far as it should go. It's like a bookstore deciding not to carry adult material.

As mentioned above, the iPad can he used to view adult content on the browser. Why would one want an adult app anyway? Browser history can be easily deleted in case someone else uses your device, but an app? Not so much.

There are many extremely prudish people here in the puritan-founded usa, but I don't think the limitation of adult apps in one online marketplace will be a detriment to our technological advancement... now if they found a way to put parental controls in all the ipads and iphones, that's another story...

It's definetely a sticky situation, and it could turn out messy for Apple Products
