Hi Mac Forums,

I have a Dual 1.8GHz PowerPC G5 and i am having a problem with the RAM, it has 8 slots and i have put 4GB in there (4x 1GB Chips) but they are only registering the chips as 512MB each so its only registering as 2GB, they are installed in matching pairs and also they all the same speed

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks

Joe

Give the link below a read. Most important things are...do you have the correct ram...and are they installed in matched pairs in the appropriate ram slots.

What operation system do you use? Maybe the problem is in it.
Check your drives for motherboard.
