My document stack on the right end of my dock disappeared. I've tried pulling documents down to the dock but that doesn't work, any ideas would be welcome

Does it at least create a folder? If it does, right click and choose stack. Should create a stack by default.

Well, I think that it's a Stack no matter what Display As is set to.

As for why the Dock won't accept a new item, perhaps the plist file is hosed.

Find it and drag it to the Desktop, then Restart the computer. This will make a new default plist file.

the path: YourHomeFolder/Library/Preferences
the file: com.apple.dock.plist
