7,200rpm drive in a 15" MacBook Pro (mid-2009)

I'm looking at the possibility of upgrading the factory Fujitsu drive to a Western Digital 500GB, 7,200rpm drive.
From Newegg: Western Digital Scorpio Black WD5000BEKT 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive -Bare Drive item number=N82E16822136692.

I noticed this when I went to get the specs on the Fujitsu drive.
Linkspeed is 3gb, but negotiated speed is 1.5gb.

Does that mean Apple installed a slower drive from the factory?

What exactly are you asking? Because the Nvidia MCP79 AHCI is the chipset (controller) not the hard drive. The specs given are normal for the controller.

The WD drive you chose should work fine in your MBP.

I was asking if the factory drive is slower than the controller.
If I get the WD, will the negotiated and link speed match at 3.0gb?
