Iomega Drivers for OS 10.6.4

My trusty ol' Mac G3 finally crashed. Some of my back up is on 100 meg Zip disks as the G3 had a built in Zip Drive.

I bought a "new" iMac with OS 10.6.4.

To recover the Zip disk data I have been offered the use of an Iomega "FotoShow" which has/uses a Zip drive and uses an USB connection. Thus, mechanically the Iomega Zip drive will connect to my iMac.

The question is drivers. Is there a driver for an Iomega Zip Drive that takes 100 and 250 meg disks that is compatible with Mac OS 10.6.4?

If so where could it be found?

I would check the Iomega site for drivers but I would imagine that finding drivers for more modern versions of OS X may be more difficult.

The difficulty with the Iomega site is that it lists the Zip drive (100 or 250 meg) as compatible with Mac OS X -- but does not specify which versions of OS X. Then on an FAQ page it lists Iomega products specifically compatible with OS 10.6, and ones not -- but makes no mention of Zip drives.

Have you just tried connecting the drive up and seeing if the disks mount without drivers?

As louishen has advised, just attach the iOmega drive via USB, insert a 100 MB or 250 MB disk and your Mac should be able to read it. As far as I know, no special software or drivers are needed. The only iOmega drives that need special software and drivers are those that have a SCSI interface.

According to this, Zip drives are supported natively by OS X. Are you sure that the device works? Does it show up in Disk Utility (I don't have one so I don't even know if it would show up in Disk Utility)?
