Burn a MPEG4 to DVD to play in a standard DVD Player

I have a movie that is an MPEG 4 format which i want to burn onto a DVD to play on a standard DVD player for others to watch. How do i do this? I obviously need to convert the file, but into what format using what software? Can i use iDVD?

Yes. iDVD will handle most mp4 files with little or no difficulty. Keep in mind that single layer DVDs will hold a bit less than two hours of movie time depending upon the menus present and bitrate of the file.
