if i restore my ipod will lose all the data from my apps?

ex: am in the middle of a game, if i restore my ipod will i have to restart the game?

The restore will put it back to factory settings. If it is a touch make sure you have a current backup (within iTunes) and then when you plug in to sync you can restore from the backup and retain your data.
