hello all;
i have a 400mhz processor and 100mhz fsb.
new to mac so i need someone to tell me if it would be financially wise to spend the money for the chip when i have such a small fsb, or can mac handle the upgrade will i notice the upgrade, i am a pc guy and on a pc the bottleneck would make that kind of upgrade useless,

any advice?

You didn't mention what sort of processor you want to upgrade to...and have you done any "shopping" to find out how much that CPU upgrade is going to cost you? BTW...you're not upgrading the "chip" you need a processor upgrade card.

Your 400mhz G4 is worth around $25 bucks (give or take $5-$10). So you need to decide how much money to spend. But if you spend say $50 bucks or more...you might as well purchase a whole new Powermac G4 with a 733mhz or 867mhz processor. Because that's about how much they're worth.
