When my contract is up, can I still use my iPhone 4?

I realize it is an odd question, but after my 2 year contract is up (and I get a new phone) will I still be able to use all of the functions that do not require phone service? In essence will it become an iTouch?

Or, when my service with AT&T ends, will all of the functionality of the device stop?

Just tried out my old 3G, and the answer is yes, it still works just fine (no phone, of course). Wi-Fi works so you can still access the Internet.
