Hi all,

I have been a long time viewer of these forums and occasionally use the search function to find solutions to the problems I experience. Today I erased one of my external hard drives (confusing the name with another) with Disk Utility and feel I have lost all the data on that drive, hence I felt the need to sign up.

I scoured the Internet for advice and identified that within Disk Utility and under the 'security option' icon I had 'Don't Erase Data' selected as default. This has led me to believe that I may be able to recover the data. I have looked at options such as REMO's Recover Pro software but could not find many reviews online despite one at Techrader.

Am I being very optimistic in believing that my data is still retrievably? Is the process something I would need to contact a specialist about? If not, are there any alternatives to REMO Recover Pro.

Oh and lastly, I am using my PPC G5 running Mac OS 10.5.8.

If anyone is better informed than myself your assistance would be appreciated.

I also recommend Data Rescue 3. It's saved my bacon more than a few times.
