Hi folks,

I bought a Macbook Pro (with firewire port) about 3 months ago as part of a home recording set up. I have a couple of condenser mics knocking around etc, but my question is regarding the Firewire sound card I've bought.

Its a M-Audio Firewire Audiophile (RRP around £115). The cable I was given (Belkin Firewire cable - grey/red http://www.office365.co.uk/Computer-Hardware/243777-Belkin-FireWire-Cable.htm ) doesn't seem to fit the Firewire port on the Macbook... now I apologise if I'm wasting everyone's time with my question but I'm really desperate to start recording some music (I'm better at playing it than recording it - I promise!)

If anyone could help me I'd really appreciate it (wrong cable/adapter/etc) :Blushing:

Kindest Regards,

Macmaverick

Have not really looked at the new MBP ports, but am pretty sure the FW800 port would be 9 pin, not 6 pin.

6 pin port on left, 9 pin port next to it, two USB ports on the right side
