Since i got my macbook i logged to a number of networks both wireless and lan/ethernet. i noticed that "all documents" folder (finder->sidebar) is full of thousands of files i dont recognize. some of them belong to the computers from the lan networks others i don't know where from.
how can i disable this action?
and what can i do in order to delete everything which isn't mine?

That's not a folder. You can't disable it, but you can hide it.

Finder > Preferences > Sidebar

uncheck it under the Search heading

thanks but...

thanks a lot.
but my problem is deeper.
it takes about 14 GB and i want to remove it.
if i hide it it's still there. i dont want to have access to those files.
what can i do in order to disable this option?
and what do you mean it's not a folder?

That's a smart folder. (learn about them, they kick ***) Those are all the documents on your machine. Right click on it > show search criteria and you'll see what's up.

I mean it's not a folder. A folder is a folder. That isn't.
It looks like a folder and is, in fact called a smart folder, so his confusion is understandable.
It looks like a folder and appears to contain stuff but what it actually is is a saved search. A virtual folder of sorts.
It amazes me how many mac users know nothing about them and don't use them. Here's a good article on them: Get super-organised with OS X Smart Folders | News | TechRadar UK
