My son randomly bashed a few keys on my iBook...now I have a blue dot on the screen about an inch square in size. When I click it it seems to replicate the functions of the F10 key, however I can't seem to get rid of it from the desktop and it sits over all the app's.

Can anyone HELP its really frustrating!!! :doctor:

Thanks iNap, don't think so, I don't have bluetooth installed. Its a button, very mac looking, and when you press it it just does exactly what F10 does so maybe my son pressed F10 and some random other buttons and it created a nice blue button, its very shiny mac type button......tranlucent until you hover over it with the mouse and it goes solid.....anymore ideas???

it sounds like the .mac symbol how about that, are you a member and time is getting short to renew? or how about is it telling you you need a software update?

To switch off the blue blob on your screen, open up Terminal and type:

$ defaults write com.apple.dock wvous-floater -bool false

and restart the Dock with:

$ killall Dock

That should get rid of it for you.

If you are uneasy about fooling with Terminal, you could also use this little app to get rid of it as well.

Yup, that is what I suspected it was. You can disable it pretty easily, though. Nothing to worry about. :black:

That is the expose blob..it is a built-in feature in the OS but I don't know if there are any ways of enabling/disabling it without Terminal or 3rd party utility

What is a expose blob? If it's built in, then it must have a reason for being there,No?
