I have a Macbook Pro i7 and most updated 10.6.4
Before the "You need to restart your computer" (kernel panic) appears, I already visited the Apple Store for help 2 times without any resolution. The problems appear to be:

Unresolvable ACL problem and Permission differ issue on Java 10.6.0. The App People (even the store manager) tried all to fix them, with no luck. The startup DVD reinstall the system (kept the user info) did not help at all either.

Flash Plug-in fail in Safari after 10 minutes of browsing the Web. Then it turns into a very colorful mess, like a graphic card problem. Then I had to shut down the system.

And of course, the Kernel Panic every 2 days. This is what bothers me!

Apple store ran a test on the hardwares for 30 seconds, and told me all was okay. But I am not very convinced that 30 seconds can tell if it was OKAY.

Anyone had similar experience?

Take it back to the Apple Store and show them exactly what happens when you do the things to make it cause trouble..and tell them to fix it..if they say it's fixed, repeat the steps to confirm that it's fixed and if not, tell them to fix it..

The MBP i7 is new, so you should be under warranty, so use it to ensure that you get a working computer..if that means they have to replace the logic board, and other hardware or give you a new MBP so be it..

Be persistent until you can enjoy the machine you paid a serious amount of money for..

Regards

@ghostmomo

Download and run the free ACLr8. It might at least solve the ACL problem, which may be causing the other problems with Java.
