Well what type of batteries are you using? Not rechargeable one trusts as these do have an extremely limited lifespan and after six-twelve months will not hold a charge for any great length of time. Through trial and error found Energizer Lithium and Duracell Plus are the way to go.

My Apple wireless keyboard requires batteries about every twelve months and wireless Mighty Mouse every three to four months.

Harryb, thanks for the information. I saved myself the hassle and bought a wired keyboard but getting a wireless Magic Mouse tonight. I guess I'll be using Energizer Lithium then.

I bought the Magic Mouse. I am using the Energizer batteries that came with it and seems like they're going to last for a long time. I believe I am going to buy ones exactly like them when they run out.

Themuskr do you switch your keyboard off when it is not in use? it's one way to save your battery power.

@Lycoming, the keyboard and mouse go into a "sleep" state routinely when not being used. Turning it off can't hurt, but I don't think you'll see a big difference..

Use my Mac Pro about four/six hours a day and never turn kb or mouse off and as stated, last battery changes in kb were on 17 February and mighty mouse on 28 June so something is wrong somewhere. Currently both are running at about 60% capacity.
