I just bought an Imac i3 (3.06 ghz 4gb ddr3 ram). I was wondering if I would be able to run x64 on it or would I be better off running x86.

You should be installing the 64 bit.

To add to what braiden recommended.... The main reason you probably should go with the 64 bit version of Win 7, is so that all your memory can be utilized. The 32 bit version of Win 7 will see the 4 GB but will only use approximately 3 GB. Later on if you add 4 GB more to the machine for a total of 8 GB, Win 7 64 bit can use it all.
