I opened my system preferences on my macbook pro and I have a new icon named "Macfuse". How did it get there and how do I get rid of it?
I don't need to extend file systems or anything like that but I am a bit disturbed that this in on my computer and it's not something I knowingly put there. I would like it off but don't know what to do. Any help?

What have you installed recently? It may have been installed as part of something else which uses Fuse.

You should be able to uninstall it by right clicking on it.

But don't worry, MacFuse simply allows you to write to Windows NTFS drives. It was written by somebody at Google and is certainly not anything harmful

Parallels installed it on mine. If you don't use something that needs it just uninstall it.
