Hey, I'm just trying to be a good boyfriend and help my girlfriend out. She's moving to Pascadena to go to Art Center for college, and she was looking at buying a MacBook Pro. We went to the store and of course the person helping us was trying to up-sale every little thing he could throw in, but I was wondering if a MacBook pro with just the minimum 4 G's of Ram would be fine for an art student who would be using the adobe art programs on her laptop to their fullest extent. But I was wondering if it would be worth the $400 to upgrade to 8 G's of ram. My first thought was, well you should always go for the upgraded version because it means it will last that much longer, but for someone who's on a very tight budget what would you recommend? Please and Thank you, Forrest.

Your Mac's Specs
MBP 2.3 Ghz 4GB RAM 860 GB SSD, iMac 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7 32GB RAM, Fusion Drive 1TB
Buy the fastest processor speed you can afford. You can't upgrade the CPU (processor) or the GPU (graphic card) on a MBP.

The RAM and HDD space you can always upgrade yourself for a fraction of what Apple charges.

4GB is enough to run the Adobe Suite.

Not sure what this has to do with 'Community Suggestions and Feedback', moving to 'Apple Notebooks' forum.
