IPod lost half of it's hard drive

I have a 30gig Ipod video. It has recently lost half it's capacity and only shows 16 gig. I have tried resetting it and restoring it. I have also tried formatting it through my macbook but nothing works.

Any ideas?

Hello Plodkiller.

If it is reading the total space on the ipod video hard drive as only 16 GB instead of 30 GB total space, then that means that the hard drive could be physically damaged. Get another hard drive and take everything to a technitian to repair it.
