Hi,
I have two little but annoying problems.

1. After mount a DMG file I can't eject it. I have to use unmount command on disk utility.

2. typing tell application "Finder" to empty trash on AppleScript Editor return me this error: "Finder got an error: trash doesn’t understand the empty message." number -1708 from trash"

Any suggestion?

Thanks,
Gianluca

Have you tried using the Secure Empty Trash command from the main Finder menu? Also, I take it you have dragged the .dmg image to the trash and it will not eject? Is/was there anything that might have been using it?

In all cases, try repairing disk permissions in Disk Utility. Verify permissions first, then repair the permissions.

Thanks for reply.
I forgot to say what I tried.

I used Secure Empty Trash but nothing is changed.
I try with many different dmg and the result doesn't change it doesn't eject the image.

I repair disk permission and verify disk.

Any other idea?

Have you ejected it from the Finder by clicking on the eject icon? You probably have…

Could be an issue with Finder. Move ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Finder.plist (~ = shorthand for your home folder) to the Desktop for now, log out and back in. Try ejecting an image after logging back in.

If that doesn't work, does Finder tell you that it is in use when you try to eject it?

The moving of com.apple.Finder.plist completely solves the problem.
Many thanks to you and Chris H. for the support.
Cheers
