my macbook can't read cd's...

hi guys it's been a month now and my mac book can't read any (blank or not cd I insert although it doesn't seem to have a problem with dvd's.....any suggestions??

SuperDrive going out?

Try an Apple Hardware test.

Insert the grey Mac OS X disc into the computer, reboot, hit C. From there you should be able to run the Intel hardware test.

just tried it and it didn't find any problems....:/

Are we talking about commercially pressed CDs, or recorded CDs?

A lot of people aren't aware that recordable optical media actually degrades over time. Some brands are worse than others.

No all cd's...and I'm not sure it works properly with all dvd's too!!! just movies....
