Finder wallpaper not changing

I know how to change the finder wallpaper via "show view options" or Command+J. The problem is the wallpaper wont change. When I drag or open an image to make the wallpaper it stays blank...Only a couple of wallpapers work, those are the some of the default ones. Ive tried a couple things and nothing has worked.. Any Ideas?

Certain higher resolutions and I think certain lower resolutions are not supported. I could be wrong- it's been awhile since I've actually done this.

Yeah... I figured since I was trying to make the background some shelves made for finder it would've worked. Im using JPEG's.. I might need to fool around with photoshop and saving the images as different sizes..
