I am looking for the best mixing software for making a dance cd compilation. Until now I have used Traktor Pro to make the mix and recorded the mix live, but as soon as I make a little mistake I have to start all over again.

What I need is the possibility to:
  • Set up a list of tracks
  • Make cue points
  • Sync beat
  • Detect and change BPM
  • Pitch bend
  • Create cross fades between the tracks

And then I wonder: Which software is best for this?

I have Traktor 3 and it works great for me.
That's the beauty of digital music... you can always edit your mixes later.

I agree, Traktor is great. But I still need to make the whole mix in one go, and record it live.

What I would like is something like wave burner, where I can import all the tracks and work on one track at a time, and the mix into next track. But wave burner doesn´t have sync, bpm detect and pitch bend as far as I know.

Then go with Ableton Live. Live automatically matches BPM's on the fly for easy blending of mixes on beat.

Ableton for sure is probably your best option.. I'm still using version 4.

I would also recommend Ableton! Great software!
