hi All,

Before I do the windows thing of reinstalling OS :dummy:

Previously I had an account and that was the adminstrators account and I used to automatically login.

Now, my PB shows up 2 accounts with 2nd one as "users" . I am unable to check the box which says -Automatically login as.....

On the left pane in "Accounts" it now shows a heading- other users but does not give any name.

How do I delete this so that I can automatically login as a single account on my computer.

Thanks

Pankaj

its just a theory..

hi,

Thanks for your reply.
tried that, doesn't work.
It has something to do with root privileges. I had to log in to root account to uninstall OWC wireless software. All this problem has started since then.

The other users account only lete me use "root" in the username.

Have you tried repairing permissions?

Is there a password set for the admin account? Actually I think you have to set one under OS X...

What exactly did you do to login as root?

Maybe you left that user 'active' somehow and could logout as root...

It is restored to original configuration now.
I don't know how..
I logged onto root user, disabled fast user switching and restarted.

I had to login as root user to uninstall OWC wireless internet software which i did not need anyway.

There is also a "Disable automatic login" option in Security, maybe that was enabled.
