My just got the macbook and when i use the snow leopard install dvd on my macbook it say it cant install on this mac, mine is the 2008 model. Does any one have an idea why this is happening?

What kind of Snow Leopard DVD do you have? In order to install Snow Leopard on your 2008 MacBook, you must have the retail version of Snow Leopard; either the upgrade (if you're currently using Leopard) or the full install boxed version. A Snow Leopard DVD from another Mac (shipped with the machine) will not work for your 2008 MacBook.
