and the light is good... welcome to macs

lol only a few hours at it and i already have questions... when i install programs... such as firefox... WOW... they bring up a driver icon right below the mac HD icon... is t his normal? how do i get rid of these but still keep the icon in my dock?

I believe what you are seeing is virtual disks (file systems). Just drag the application into your application folder. Then drag the white virtual disk icon to the trash to eject it.

its says firefox is still in use?

Close all application windows, and try again. If you can't see an application window, check the programs on the dock for a little black triangle underneath. This indicates that particular application is open. Click on the icon, go command+q to close it, and try to eject the virtual disk again.
