I've been using an APC ES 750 UPS with my Mac; I had it when I was using a PC and I've continued to use it with the Mac. I found out today that none of the APC UPS models work with Snow Leopard, I found this out while speaking with an APC tech support person, who also said there isn't an estimated date as to when this will be fixed.
I haven't gotten any error messages but I feel as if I've been lulled into a sense of false security as I was told that the APC UPS hasn't been protecting the Mac as I had thought.
Does anyone use a UPS with their Mac that actually works? I need it only for surge protection and for 10 to 15 minutes shutdown time when the power goes out.
I have an iMac, Intel Core 2 Duo w/Snow Leopard. I don't have many peripherals: a small laser printer (which I know shouldn't be plugged into the UPS), an Apple Airport Express, an external hard drive for backups, and a FiOS modem.
Thanks for any suggestions.
