How do i make my dvd player region free?

Does anybody know where i can find any software that will allow me to watch DVD s from any region? My Mac is now telling me that I can no longer change the region !

I've found downloads for PCs but nit Mac.

20" Intel iMac 2.4 Ghz/3G Ram/320HD, Snow Leopard. PBook G4, 1.5Ghz/1.5 Ram/250 HD, Leopard 10.5.6.
VLC player plays any region regardless of what your drive region is set to.

VLC can play DVDs from different regions, but not always.
Make sure that in you turn off the automatic DVD player opening in the System Preference, CDs/DVDs pane if it doesn't work. Set the "When you insert a DVD" to ignore.
