iBook question about hard-drive space

Hey,

New to computers incase i'm about to ask a stupid question!

I have an iBook G3 and have been getting warning messages about freeing up some space if i want to add more music.

When i first got the computer and installed the operating system software, OS 9 was installed as well as OSX. Seens as how i only use OSX, would i be able to delete OS 9 to free up some space on the harddrive? Or would this affect the operation of my computer?

Any help for the 'newbie' would be appreciated...!

You can remove it but some programs might want to run in os9.... As long as you don't use those programs it will be fine to delete os9.

If you remove the OS 9 system folder, you lose the ability to run the classic environment.
