Powerbook G4 Startup

Hey guys,

Everytime I startup my Powebook G4 (tiger 10.4), my wallpapers loads 1/2, or 1/4. And some utilities doesn't startup (upper-right cornor) is there any way to fix this? Tnx

Verify permissions in Disk Utility and run Disk Repair while you're at it. Should solve any software issue that may cause this.
Report back if it doesn't.

Disk repair? I don't have disk repair , can I download it anywhere or is there another option?

It should be in Applications / Utilities / Disk Utility

If it is not there, boot up from your OSX dvd insert disc, and restart holding down the C key. Once boted up do not go through the install process but select Disk Utility from the top menu and run it from there

Uhm I lost my CD ages ago, I have no idea where it is :/

What sort of "wallpapers" are you using? Are they wallpapers/desktop backgrounds that came with the OS...or are they wallpapers you downloaded from a website?

As far as the utilities not loading...how many do you have?

How can I see what Utilities I have (sorry new in Mac:Blushing?

And I'm using 1 of the Internet.

Go to your applications folder on your HD, and look in the folder named "Utilities"
Disk Utility is in there, double click to open it and go from there.

I got none folder 'utilities' there 0.o , but if i'm searching it in 'finder' am I not able to find those?

So ... any options left?

You need to do a clean install if you really don't have the Disk Utility option in Applications, but as you have no discs, you are a bit out of luck.
You need to buy Tiger or Leopard from eBay, but that won't be cheap.

Hmm buying a new version is a bit overrated for this little bug.. Well thanks for the help!!
