my hardisk replaced by new one as it was failed to startup

my questions ,

can i install my previous upgraded snow leopard for my new hard drive?

Is it possible to install upgraded snow leopard myself without assistance from apple care ?

Yes to both questions, it shouldn't be a problem, just whack the disc in and the install should be nice and smooth.
