Memory Check - G5 1.6 Single

Hello Guys,

This is my first post ..... so be gentle

I'm looking to upgrade my memory in my G5. I've been looking around and just really want to find a good deal.

I would like at least 3gb ( 2x1gb , 2x512mb )

What do you think...... eBay always draws a blank as its too risky to find mac compatiable memory, and i think cru*ial is a little too much for me.

The issue you're looking at now, this memory has low demand and is no longer in mass production - hence it's high price.

I'd still pay the high price before I started purchasing used, non-matched sticks off ebay vs life-time warranty from Crucial or OWC.

How much speed difference do you think a new HD would make, i would spend a good amount on a good quality HD......

Probably not that much in terms of speed/performance. If you need the extra storage space, then get it. But if you're looking for some sort of performance boost...a hard drive is not really the place to get it.

Performance boosts really come from a faster cpu and/or a faster video card.
