Mac Mini dim VGA problem

The Mac Mini has known issues with video output. The DVI/VGA port doesn't put out a VESA-spec signal when it should. It's voltages are beneath spec, and in some cases aren't high enough for some monitors to even accept as a valid signal. Anyone know if Apple is going to put out a firmware fix for this (or if it's even possible for them to fix)? Perhaps a recall on Apple's part is in order?

I'm surprised I haven't seen more conversation about this here. I can see that my Mac Mini's output is much lower than my PCs, as I have them bot plugged in with VGA plugs to my monitor (has dual inputs). Switching between them makes the dim Mac Mini display obvious.
