Looking to resize approximately 1000 photos in various sizes.

Original photos are all different sizes but around the same.

4530 by 2450
4530 by 2350
4525 by 2375
etc.

I want to keep each photos aspect ratio the same but lower the (4xxx) to 800 or 600 or 350 and where ever the 2xxx is thats fine.

What are my options with CS5 and or iPhoto.

You can try doing it in iPhoto, select all photos, File menu>Export.
Size custom, and set it to the size you want. Try it with a few that have different sizes to see if it will work.

Navigate to images in Bridge.
Select all > Tools menu > Photoshop > Image processor.
The image processor interface should be self explanatory.

Either that or...setup an action script in photoshop and record doing what you want to one file. Then open the rest and automate it. >_>"

Why use an action / batch over the built in image processor?
And why not stay in CS than bother with automator?
Everything you need to resize batches is right there in bridge.

Very cool to know that CS has a way of doing that. I don't have Photoshop or any of the CS apps, so Automator/Preview was the only way I knew of to do such a thing. :)
