MacBook Pro running real slow?

Hello All,
Bought a MacBook Pro in December and now its running really slow. Slow connecting to the internet (other computers in the house are not affected and their PC's) Just slow in general. Any recommendations on cleaning anything up? Can i defrag a Mac hard drive? Thank you very much for any help.

Back to my old 2.2GHz C2D MB after selling my MBP and wondering what my next Mac will be :)
Also, you haven't given any info, so I'll just add that if your hard drive is near full (less than 15-20GB free space), this is not only a contributing factor, but is a sure fire way to end up with a major crash of the OS.
