Well a 14 year old shouldnt have a use for a powerbook unless they are just an extreme user possibly doing some heavy graphic work, but alas this is my opinion. I bought my powerbook because i got a better summerjob than what i planned, and had the money left over. Furthermore, I only spend money on my gf and so I decided to buy myself something more than I need, so i got the pb. But hey, the ibook is a great machine that will serve you well.

Although I worship at the temple of PowerBook, the iBook has some advantages

- Lower price
- Better AirPort reception
- Slightly better durability (though PowerBooks have impressed me recently)
- 14" models have the best battery life of any Apple notebook

Heh, people will always want something bigger and better, huh? I'm happy with my iBook. It does what I need it to do. In fact, I pretty much abandoned my Windows PC since it arrived. It performes just as well, if not better. So, no, I don't think you wasted your money. :)

Sure, if I had the cash, I'd buy a PowerMac G5 with two 30" displays and 8GB of RAM, even though that's severe freakin' overkill. :) But! I think the iBook is a very fine piece that's functional, rugged, sleek, etc. What more could you want?!

If you go to a coffee shop and whip out your lappy, people notice that glowing logo, and they like it! Trust me. Like someone said already, be happy that you have an Apple notebook. It'll serve you well.

Looks sexier that the pbook (obviously this is a matter of opinions but lets face it, pure white stands out as an Apple much more and how many other white laptops do you know) very tough, cheaper (considering you're only 14, it would have took you much longer to save for a pbook) and great battery life (I get 4-5+ hours on my 12" depending on what I'm doing)

Actually the 12"PB's are lighter and the 15" are about the same as the 14" iBooks.

But iBook still kicks ***! Why?

1. Chicks dig the whole whiteness
2. Matches your iPod, power brick, apple mouse & keyboard, airport express etc.
3. Did I mention it's white?

The iBook is a great machine for most users (me included). I'm probably going to get a powerbook as my next machine, but until then my iBook has done everything that I've asked of it and more. It is a brilliant laptop for any student.
