Hello fellow Macheads. I've got an issue with my white 13" macbook core2duo. After a while, maybe 30mins or so, the screen goes blank. The machine is still on, but quieter than normal. The battery is not the problem, also removed it just in case it was shorting the machine and ran it from the mains charger, same problem. I reinstalled Leopard, but it didnt install in time. I tried a brand new hard drive, made sure it was formatted, partitioned etc, same problem. Sounds like it might be the motherboard, possibly the fan on the cpu as it does go very quiet when the screen goes blank. Its an odd one, anyone have any ideas?

You didn't give us much to go on and did not describe your hardware, however, from the short description you did give, it may be logic board related. It could be a defective GPU or something else. If the machine is under warranty or Apple care, make an appointment with Apple and let them check it out.

Regards.

Sorry i thought that would have been enough info, its a 2.0Ghz White Macbook Core2Duo, 80gb HD, 2GB ram, its not under warranty, probably about 5 years old now. I also connected the machine to a monitor, as soon as the macbook screen goes blank the monitor does as well.
