I bought a Samsung 26 inch LCD HD display (1080p) to use as a primary monitor with my 17 inch Macbook Pro. It is connected via HDMI adapter and HDMI cable, and while the picture quality is decent, I feel it can be clearer. Smaller icons still appear pixelated and colors have a strange tint.

I went through the Display tab under Preferences, and there is not much in the way of configuration available beside resolution. I also configured the display but I can't seem to improve the image I already have.

Help? Thanks :)

Is the Samsung set to its native resolution? If it is and the icons look pixelated or fuzzy, then I suggest not using the HDMI output. Use a straight DVI output to the Samsung's DVI input. That should improve the quality. BTW, that's how I have my Samsung attached to my MacBook.

Regards.

Switching to a DVI cable worked. Thanks for the solution :)
