Hi!
When I bought my iMac in 2007 its hard drive was 250GB large. Now it's only 233. Why is it like that?

It depends where you're seeing the figures you quote but here's the short story:

A 250mb disk (as quoted in machine specs and by manufacturers) has approx 233mb usable capacity (as quoted by the Operating system).

This is due to the method used to calculate the space. Manufacturers use 1000kb to represent 1mb, Operating Systems tend to use 1024kb to represent 1mb.

That's to say you haven't 'lost' the space so much as you are seeing the same space reported in different ways.
