smtp email help

I'm trying to set up my email account using mac - my service provider is rogers. Do I have to use the rogers in/out server incoming outgoing? I've been looking for instructions online at the mac site and there's a dropdown option saying pop server. Well not on my mac mail preferences. I'm using an imac system iMac7,1
Can anyone tell me how to set this up so that I see what I'm looking at? I can send pics and do a screen capture. It should be easier than it is. Thanks.

Although the first thing to do would be to look in your email account using a web browser to find the instructions for setting up Mail. I bet Rogers also has something like that.
