OSX 10.5 as a VM under OSX 10.6?

Howdy!

I am on a Mac MINI with 4GB of ram and OSX 10.6.4. For over a year, I've been running Windows XP using VMWare Fusion (currently at v3.1.0). I also have an OSX 10.5.8 partition that I use for legacy applications.

Question: Is it possible to create another VM in Fusion that will allow me to run OSX 10.5.8 alongside OSX 10.6.4?

I checked the VMWare Fusion website...and here's what they say:

"How many Virtual Machines can I create from a single VMware Fusion license?
You can create an unlimited amount of virtual machines from a single license. You will need to provide the required operating system software and license for each installation of a virtual machine."

Unfortunately OS X will not run natively from VMware as it emulates a PC rather than a Mac.

VMWare will support OS X just fine (see here). Both PCs and Macs are PCs (personal computers) and use, for the most part, the same components. Note that the support there is for OS X Server and the server part is an important distinction. The OS X Leopard (client) license states the following:

This License allows you to install, use and run one (1) copy of the Apple Software on a single Apple-labeled computer at a time.

As it states there, you can only use one copy of OS X on a machine at a time. Granted, you are trying to run different versions of OS X on the same machine at the same time but because of the "one copy at a time" rule, I would be surprised if VMWare or Parallels let you even install it.

Thanks for the info, I thought we would be going into hackintosh territory to use OS X in VMware.
