Yesterday, some of my cousins were here and They were messing with my IMac, everything was fine.
But today i woke up, and I tried to change my account password , but my system preferences would not open. Everytime I clicked it, it said something about fixing the alias. But the problem is, I cannot locate the original file.

Here is a picture:

So what Do I do? I am really going nuts right about now.

If it's only the Dock icon playing up, you can find the System Preferences app in your Applications folder, but if your cousins have dragged it elsewhere you could search using Spotlight (top right corner of menu bar).
Hopefully they haven't trashed it !!

Cheers :)

Sorry, sounds like they've had a good time with your iMac, and may have caused more damage than you know about; the only answer might be a reinstall and restore from a backup.

You could try using Pacifist to restore just the System Preferences app from your installation DVD.

Cheers :)

"...in a minute." ????
Whatever.
Post #4 tells you what you need in order to just reinstall System Preferences.
