Anyone seen this before? Cracked the LCD on an original MacBook, ordered a replacement, screen is excellent. Fully installed no problems, but brightness buttons dont respond at all, the volume buttons work fine.

Any ideas? Not sure what could be the cause, they worked on the cracked LCD that was there before :\

I've seen that before when the new LCD was not an exact replacement. Where did you buy it from?

Regards.

See if you can match your old display with a new one from these folks here in the US: iFixit: The free repair manual You'll need the model number of your MacBook and the part number of the old display if you have it.

If you did receive a display that's not 100% compatible perhaps you can return it for a refund.

I'm assuming you went back over your work and that everything is connected the way it should be.

Regards.

For the cost of getting one sent from the US i'll probably live with the brightness, but i will contact the supplier and see what they say about a correct replacement, Thanks

Pretty sure everything was hooked up properly too
