MSN messenger not working

I just reinstalled my Mac mini OSX Leopard but now I am unable to sign into MSN , i have tried both proteus and Audium(Worked yesterday) .

If i out my correct details in it just sits authenticating for ever , but if i enter in incorrect password it come back and tells me wrong password so assume it must be hitting the server

Any suggestions

I ahve tried the latest MSN and the beta both the same , I have found anoter issue on my mac since installing , JPG's are not recognised by any apps other than firefox/quicktime previous cannot open them, and they are all got Quicktime icons this may be part of the issue as I am currently repairing permissions to see if this will work

MSN still not working after fixing my permissions however audium working and JPG's ,*so suspect a permission issue

if the desktop editions dont work i recommend you to use the internet versions such as Sin Messenger (MSN, Yahoo, AOL, GTalk) or Web and Mobile Messenger for MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, AIM, Google Talk, Facebook | eBuddy they are good enough and its a good alternative. i have the same problem i think, whenever i sign in my contacts appear as if they have just added me up!
