Hello,

About a month ago I picked up a 15" Macbook Pro i5 and I really like it.

However, I would like to have a bigger hard drive and I was wondering if anyone could make some suggestions.

I've always had good luck with Western Digital.

Has anyone had any experience with this model?
Newegg.com - Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD10TPVT 1TB 5200 RPM 8MB Cache 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive -Bare Drive

However, it looks like its thicker than the other Hard Drivers, so I was wondering if this would fit in a current model Macbook, or if anyone has had any experience with it.

Thanks! Any feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated!

That particular drive is 12.5 mm thick whereas you really need one that is 9.5 mm. However, as you can see from the buyer feedback, it can fit in a MBP 13" and will fit in yours although it may be a bit tight.

Personally if it were me, I would stick with a 9.5 mm drive. I'm not sure if you can find a 9.5 mm drive of 1 TB. The largest I remember seeing was 750 MB.
Also, I would go for a 7200 RPM drive instead of 5400 RPM. (Faster performance)

Regards.
